Notable South West Gun Maker A. W. Rule and Son, based in Somerton, Somerset are moving to a new premises within the Historic town to further develop their workshops for their bespoke shotgun & rifle stock making services. The expansion comes 54 years after its founder, Anthony William Rule, launched the acclaimed Gun Making business from a spare bedroom at their family home in 1967.
Nearly 55 years on, Director and Master Gun Stock Maker, Gareth Rule, is expanding the business to a new secure premises on the Business Park in Somerton which is over 3200 square feet. The new premises are almost double the size of their current location and includes secure private parking for multiple vehicles.
A.W. Rule and Son Gun Makers Ltd offer a full in-house Gun Making service with apprentice trained gun makers. Founded in London 1957, Anthony William Rule served his formal apprenticeship with James Purdey and Son Gun Makers before starting a successful business in Somerset. Today, his son Gareth Rule continues to honour his father’s legacy and has expanded the company with the introduction of a successful retail department, an independent gun room with new and second hand gun sales, wood room stocked with the finest Turkish Walnut for clients to select and a redesigned in house workshop to cater for all aspects of gun making. The industry leading Gun Maker also offers a bespoke English Game Conversion service, taking tried and trusted European mechanism and barrels and adapting it into a truly exceptional English-feeling game guns.
