Air Arms is a well-respected UK manufacturer known for high-quality PCP (pre-charged pneumatic) and spring-powered air rifles. The company has been producing airguns since the 1980s and is particularly known for accuracy, excellent triggers, and high-quality walnut stocks.

Some of their most popular models include:

  • Air Arms S400 – A classic single-shot PCP rifle, popular for target shooting and hunting. Available in .177 and .22 calibres.
  • Air Arms S410 – One of the company’s best-known rifles, featuring a bolt-action, multi-shot magazine system and excellent field accuracy.
  • Air Arms S510 – An upgraded version of the S410 with a smoother sidelever action and shrouded barrel.
  • Air Arms TX200 – Widely regarded as one of the finest spring-powered air rifles available, favoured by target shooters and hunters.
  • Air Arms Pro Sport – A premium underlever rifle with concealed cocking linkage and elegant styling. Enthusiasts often praise its smooth firing cycle and accuracy.

Air Arms triggers are highly regarded because they tend to be light, crisp, and adjustable, with very little creep when properly set up.

Some details by model:

  • Air Arms CD (Computer Designed) Trigger – Found on rifles such as the Air Arms TX200 and Air Arms Pro Sport. It’s a two-stage trigger that allows adjustment of first-stage travel, second-stage weight, and sear engagement. Many shooters compare it favorably with much more expensive match-style triggers.
  • S400/S410/S510 PCP Triggers – These also use adjustable two-stage trigger units. The first stage is usually smooth and light, followed by a distinct “wall” before the shot breaks cleanly. Factory settings are generally hunting-oriented, but they can be tuned lighter for target shooting.

A few trigger terms:

  • First stage: Initial movement before resistance increases.
  • Second stage: The point where additional pressure releases the sear.
  • Creep: Noticeable movement during the second stage before the shot breaks.
  • Break: The moment the trigger releases the shot.
  • Overtravel: Movement after the shot has been released.

A well-adjusted Air Arms trigger is often described as:

Light first stage → clear stop → crisp break with minimal creep.

Compared with other UK brands, Air Arms triggers are generally considered among the best factory triggers available on sporting air rifles, particularly the CD trigger found in the TX200 and Pro Sport.
