Made cira 1889, this DBHE AD 12bore Cogswell & Harrison side by side game gun would make a great addition to someones collection who maybe looking for a restoration project.

The coin finished action is beautifully engraved with fine scroll with the makers name in banner to both flanks. SAFE in gold to top auto return safety. Number 2 engraved to top lever. Our client has informed us that it was last service some two decades ago by anther gunsmith, and would benefit from a full clean & tighten again now.

The original straight hand stock has been lengthened with a 1 3/4″ wood extension which would again benefit from being refitted or replaced to the new owners requirements. The chequering is heavily warn with evidence of a repair/crack to the wrist of the stock but this appears to be holding firm. Cast slightly for the left shoulder. Fitted with a plane gold oval. The original forend wood, fitted with a horn tip & small diamond, housing the ejectors & assisted opening mechanism.

29″ dovetail barrels with dolls head extension, chambered for 2 1/2″  – 65mm cartridges. Name, address & borders to top rib are faint but legible: Cogswell & Harrison “Avant Tout” 142 New Bond Street. London, again marked as number 2 of a pair. The barrels require a light lap & polish of the bores, being mindful of the 0.022` wall thickness to the left barrel.

Presented in a single flat leather case.
